A SPECIALTY PRIVATE MEDICAL PRACTICE is expanding services and is seeking to add a CONTINGENT to PERMANENT (Retained Employee), Full-Time. The position is for a CLINICAL & CLERICAL MEDICAL ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR / CMA with at least one year supervisory experience to it's staff. 
(Certification as a Medical Assistant / CMA is required).

* COMPENSATION for the MEDICAL ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR / MA is $15.00 per hour ($31,200 annually) and up to $17.00 per hour ($35,400 annually) Based on Experience.

* STARTING DATE DESIRED (Approximate) :  Immediate

* WORK SCHEDULE (Approximate) is 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.  

 Certification is required.
MEDICAL ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR / MA: * JOB DESCRIPTION: Directly supervise four (4) Medical Assistants. Two Clinical Medical Assistants and two Medical Receptionists.  
  1. Contribute to the employee interviewing process, employee performance, written warnings, write ups, etc.
  2. Facilitate staff training and education including training of all new Medical Assistants.
  3. Plan, assign and direct work of front office staff.
  4. Examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to office policies and procedures.
  5. Conduct performance appraisals in a timely manner.
  6. Assist staff in performance of duties.
  7. Prepare work schedules for staff.
  8. Resolve employee grievances.
  9. Facilitate staff training and on-going education to ensure quality patient care.
  10. Develop work procedures and workflow. 
  11. Periodically review office policies and procedures in an effort to improve efficiencies and promote quality patient care.
  12. Prepare composite reports for management on subordinate performance.
  13. Review system generated reports to validate compliance with office policies and procedures.
  14. Troubleshoot medical equipment with various vendors such as Welch Allyn, Mohawk Medical, Northeastern Technologies, etc.
  15. Audit patient charts for consistency.
  16. Ensure medication inventory is maintained.
  17. Remove expired inventory including out dated vaccinations monthly.
  18. Assist in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of Physicians.
  19. Conduct patient interviews.
  20. Measure patient vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height, BMI.
  21. Perform phlebotomy on all patients as ordered by provider and record into the electronic medical record system.
  22. Obtain and confirm patient demographics including patient telephone encounters in the patient’s electronic medical record, according to practice policy and procedures.
  23. Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients, including positioning instruments and equipment.
  24. Prepare patients for exams and testing.
  25. Hand instruments and materials to providers as directed.
  26. Clean and sterilize all instruments, clean and disinfect and maintain examination rooms to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
  27. Administer physician ordered routine diagnostic tests such as electrocardiograph, spirometry, 24 Hour BP Monitor, Tens Unit, Stress Testing, Holter Monitoring, Sleep Apnea Studies.
  28. Obtain treatment consents where applicable.
  29. Performsroutine laboratory tests such as finger stick glucose, PT-INR, H pylori, etc.
  30. Maintain organized and well stocked examination rooms to include inventorying, ordering and stocking medical supplies and materials.
  31. Coordinate patient flow to most efficiently manage provider schedules and requests.
  32. Responsible for reviewing the patient’s ongoing plan of care/self management to ensure that all necessary resources are available to and accessible by the clinician providing care at the time of the encounter, including educating patients to manage conditions (preventive health and chronic disease management), and operate home monitoring equipment consistent with standing orders.
  33. Demonstrate concern and empathy, provide excellent patient service while acknowledging physiological and psychological needs of patients. 
  34. Must posses the ability to work well with others in a team, display sound judgment, extremely organized, able to make decisions with confidence and work with accuracy and attention to detail.
  35.  Experience in computer use.
  36. Interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  37. Ability to write routine correspondence.
  38. Answer phones, schedule appointments, prep charts, obtain authorizations, vital signs, call in prescriptions and greet patients. 
  39. Utilize the electronic medical records system.
